Review Time
A system of rapid triage is in operation for all submitted papers. If the Editor decides to decline a paper without sending it for peer review, we undertake to return a decision to the authors within four weeks in 80% of cases.
In the event that a paper is rejected after full review, the Editors undertake to return a decision to the authors within 12 weeks, in 80% of cases.
Articles Published Online Ahead of Print
Articles which have been fully copy-edited and peer-reviewed are published online through our OnlineEarly feature before the print edition of this journal is published.
Free Access in the Developing World
Free online access to this journal is available within institutions in the developing world through the HINARI initiative with the World Health Organization (WHO), and the AGORA
initiative with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).

Addiction participates in a Blackwells scheme to allow authors that wish to allow open access to their papers to pay for the publication cost. Authors should NOT indicate at the point of submission whether they will wish to make use of this facility.
